Birding Tours – Day Tours
Mauritius birding day tours, which we run at any time (subject to availability of a guide)
Our Mauritius birding day tours offer the perfect introduction to one of the Indian Ocean’s most fascinating island avifaunas. Mauritius is home to several highly sought-after endemic birds, many of which have been brought back from the brink of extinction through remarkable conservation efforts. Our full-day endemic tour explores the island’s best native forest habitats in search of specials such as Echo Parakeet, Pink Pigeon, Mauritius Kestrel, and Mauritius Olive White-eye, while also offering beautiful scenery and chances for endemic reptiles and flying foxes.
For seabird enthusiasts, our Mauritius pelagic trips provide an exciting opportunity to explore the rich waters surrounding the island. The star target is the magnificent Barau’s Petrel, alongside a variety of tropical seabirds which may include tropicbirds, shearwaters, noddies, terns, and boobies. These trips combine excellent seabirding with stunning coastal scenery and the chance of encountering dolphins or whales, making them a fantastic complement to our land-based birding tours.
