My name is Adam, and I’m the Marketing Manager at Birding Ecotours. With my job, I’m involved more with the behind-the-scenes work that helps people find our tours and ultimately experience some of the most incredible birds on the planet.
Some assume that working for a bird tour company means constantly being out in the field and traveling to amazing destinations. In reality, for those of us on the office team, much of our time is spent behind a desk rather than out chasing birds.
Why am I so passionate about this work?
Maybe it’s because I get to work alongside some of the best birders in the world, authors, ornithologists, and passionate guides. I get to read about birds, write about birds, talk about birds, and never have to apologize for it.
But that’s not the real reason I do what I do.
There’s a well-known poem called The Dash by Linda Ellis. It speaks about the value of the “dash” between the dates on a tombstone, the time between birth and death. It’s a powerful reminder that life is brief, and we need to make the most of every opportunity.
Yes, we will help you see some truly incredible birds. Our guides are among the best in the world at finding those dream species, the ones you’ve always hoped to tick off your list. But it’s about more than just adding names to a checklist.
Here is my belief
Every bird you see is an experience. Each bird takes you to places you might never have imagined visiting. It introduces you to people you would never have met otherwise. It’s not just about the bird; it’s about the journey, the adventure, and the memories you create along the way.
It’s about making the most of your dash.
I don’t just want to help you see birds; I want to help you live your dreams. I want to help you have experiences that enrich your life in ways that words and even photos cannot fully capture.
If we’re lucky, we get around 29,000 days in our lifetime. For many of us, those days are ticking away. But we have a choice in how we spend them. We can live like so many other people or choose to embrace life fully. We can choose to seek new adventures, write new stories, and turn our dreams into reality.
