Rachel Lang grew up on a dairy farm in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands, but spent many holidays exploring the wilds of Southern Africa with her bush-loving family. Her enthusiasm for birds and the natural world began at an early age and has strongly influenced her career path as a wildlife blogger and environmental educator. She is a qualified pre-school teacher and FGASA level 1 guide and began her writing and story-telling career at Africa Geographic print magazine. Rach believes strongly in the importance of leading and inspiring the next generation to love and care for nature. Her heart for adventure has taken her on many exciting trips – a recent highlight being a quest to see a Pel’s Fishing Owl in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, a childhood dream that came true! Happiest barefoot and with a sketchbook or journal in hand, Rach is a true bush child.
